F.A.Q.

Here are some answers of your concern.

Pricing is highly dependent on your specific requirements: the type of service and part you need, the type of item you want to package, the speeds that you want to  to accomplish, the bag designs and sizes you need, the complexity of your process, and the speed with which you require the machine to be supplied. These all things decide what is the cost of our machinery and the services and parts that we provide.

Generally, the more complicated, specialized, or high-speed the packing process, the higher the cost.

The good news is that, as long as your packaging system is not too customized, the equipment is rather simple to use! The majority of our equipment is simple to use and does not need sophisticated technical expertise.

Modern packaging machines include intuitive touch screen interfaces in full colour. Additionally, if you need to switch the machine over to fit various bags, this may be accomplished without the need of tools.

VERTICAL FORM FILL SEAL (VFFS) PACKAGING MACHINES ARE AVAILABLE FROM US. This machine molds bags vertically, fills them with goods, and seals them tight. These machines are well-established technology, capable of operating at high rates and at a low cost. They do, however, demand a greater degree of knowledge to manage and troubleshoot, and are thus best suited to dedicated lines with little variety in product and bag types.

Additionally, we provide multi-lane SACHET and STICK PACK MACHINES. They operate similarly to VFFS machines, except that they generate many bags simultaneously through multiple packing lanes.

Finally, we provide cartooning equipment that erects cardboard cartons, counts the contents of several packages, inserts the bags into the cartons, and seals the cartons shut.

A one-size-fits-all machine is not always the greatest option. The more diverse your requirements, the more sense it may make to invest in numerous systems or to automate just a portion of the process. The reason for this is because packing machines are tuned to operate within certain limits.

If your requirements are diverse, fulfilling them within machine limits might be complicated, expensive, and inefficient. It is sometimes preferable to have a machine that excels at a single task rather than a system that excels at a variety of tasks.

Packaging machine speeds are often expressed in terms of bags per minute (BPM), which indicates the number of completed bags produced each minute.

Typically, machines are rated for a maximum number of bags per minute. In general, automated flexible packaging machines can produce between ten and one hundred bags per minute.

Hard wiring, e-stops, guarding, lock out/tag out, and regulatory compliance are all common words used to describe packing machine safety. Of course, these are critical concerns, but today’s networked safety technology can result in significant productivity gains.

Rather than shutting down a machine, networked safety switches it to a safe mode of operation, similar to collaborative robots.

Flexible packaging machines can create a variety of bag types. Here’s a quick rundown of the most common types:

Pillow bags, which are made up of two flat panels sealed together on the top and bottom with a vertical seal down the back, are the most extensively used and cost-effective packaging style. Consider chip packs or little coffee sachets seen in hotel rooms. Doypacks are oval-shaped bags that stand up. For specialist food goods, this premium bag form is becoming increasingly popular.

Quad seal bags feature a rectangular bottom that allows them to stand on their own. Two side gussets and two panels are connected together with four vertical seals to create a more structured bag with a modular appearance. Quad seal bags are frequently encountered on the premium coffee aisle.

Flat bottom bags feature two gussets, but only one vertical seal. They are similar to quad seal bags in that they contain two gussets. This is a common design for coffee bags.

Gusseted bags are similar to pillow bags, except they contain side gussets that allow for extra internal room.

Flat pouches that are sealed on three sides are known as three side seal bags.

Small, flat, four-sided sealed containers are known as sachets. Consider single-serving sugar and ketchup sachets.

Stick packs are little pillow bags that are used for single-serve drink mixes.

Packaging machine speeds indicate how many finished bags the machine can produce in a given amount of time. Bags per minute is the most used unit of measurement for speed (bpm).

This figure shows the number of completed bags that the machine can produce per minute. Your product and its qualities, your factory environment, your bag type, the expertise of equipment operators, and how much you are ready to invest can all influence the packing machine speeds you can achieve for your project.

Calculate the equivalent bags per minute if you have a target of a given number of bags each hour, day, week, or year. In general, a semi-automatic or manual packaging method would be more suited to your needs if your production requirements are sporadic or only a few each minute. In terms of speed and cost, a completely automated system would be excessive.

A vertical packaging machine is essentially a bagger that produces bags for vertically packed items, whereas a horizontal packaging machine produces bags for horizontally packaged products.

The form, size, volume, and package presentation (bag type) of your goods decide the sort of equipment you should use when thinking about your key packaging demands. The preferred bag type is the most relevant of these parameters.

The packing machines may be readily bought or pre-booked through our website. The delivery period is between 4 and 7 business days. The minimum delivery period for overseas orders is 14 working days.

You have the choice of having an installation help team dispatched to you or opting for online demo videos.

Many manufacturers give training on how to use packing equipment since it is critical to the product’s efficient use. This involves learning from the ground up how to install, establish, adjust, and control the machine, as well as long-term equipment maintenance, which is a vital stage.

Machine to machine, the automation requirements differ. Some of the equipment is completely automated, but due to our original arrangement, the majority of it does not currently match the criterion.

We may send our expert to the customer’s site to install the packaging machine they purchased if they desire it. Customers can, on the other hand, take advantage of a free installation training offer at one of our production facilities.

Welded stainless steel frames and contact components are found on the top ready made packaging machines. The advantages of stainless-steel construction are numerous. It has a high strength-to-weight ratio, making it resistant to corrosion, chemicals, and high heat while requiring less thickness than other materials.

Upgrades to electrical and pneumatic enclosures with a higher IP Rating protect important machine components from potentially damaging dust and moisture in the environment, while a durable stainless-steel frame allows the machinery to work in nearly any facility. This is especially critical for businesses that package powdered or liquid items such as drink mixes, coffee, or sauces. Even solid foods like pasta and dry cat food can emit airborne particles during packaging, which can create serious maintenance concerns if they get into moving machine parts.

The gripper arms will be in charge of holding the pouch in place as it goes through each phase of the packaging process, including product filling.

The added package weight puts stress on these grippers when a prepared pouch is filled, therefore they must be able to endure larger package fills without sagging.

The finest prefabricated pouches have a grip strength of at least 10 kg (22 pounds). This grip strength must be able to withstand the test of time, which needs a long-lasting, sturdy design. If critical machine parts are made of plastic or other non-durable materials, they will need to be maintained often and replaced at shorter intervals.

While machine maintenance is required, it should be maintained to a bare minimum to improve throughput and factory efficiency. Poor construction has a negative impact on the efficiency of manufacturing lines.

A minor leak from a box that has been poorly sealed might spell disaster for your product. Degradation, spoiling, oxidation, and contamination are all possible outcomes of a bad seal. The finest prepared pouch machines use a two-step sealing procedure for this reason.

Sealing in Two Steps:

  • Heat seal jaws are used to generate a robust package seal.
  • The temperature of the seal region is swiftly lowered by a cooling seal jaw, resulting in a clean, robust package seal.

The flexibility to move the HMI out of the way when cleaning or changing out the machine makes the procedure easier and more efficient.

The HMI gives far more freedom than one that is set in place or lays on the floor away from the machine when it is linked to it but at the end of a swivel arm.

Through the HMI, a person may interact with the PLC to programme the machine (human machine interface).

Essentially, the PLC accepts sensor inputs, runs a user-defined programme for machine operation, and writes digital and analogue outputs to machine parts for best performance. PLCs for packing machines are made by a variety of businesses.

Modern manufactured pouch machinery might come equipped with a particular control platform, like as Siemens, but should also let customers to switch to another platform if they desire.

Allen Bradley is the most commonly used controls platform in the United States and Europe, and as a result, it has become the primary controls platform for ready made pouch packing technology. Viking, a globally competitive packaging OEM, offers their dependable prepared pouch technology with Allen Bradley controls.

Our machines are divided into two types: rotary and inline. Because the beginning and end locations of the operation are at different ends of the equipment, an inline machine requires extra floor space.

The start and finish locations of the process are immediately next to each other on rotary pouch filling and sealing machines, which are intended to operate in a circular pattern.

Our preferred choice for this sort of equipment is a rotational design, which needs less floor space and enhances operator productivity and ergonomics.

The machine is down and not producing when a pouch packaging machine is modified to fit different bags. One of the most common operational concerns from manufacturers and contract packagers is the amount of time spent on changeovers, which cuts into their productivity and bottom line.

So, how long does it take to convert an automatic pouch filling and sealing machine? 5 minutes or less for a rotary machine. A changeover should not require any tools and be simple enough for an entry-level operator to execute.

Adjusting a few knobs and pressing a button should be all it takes to get the machine ready for fresh bags.

In both vehicles and packing machines, it’s what’s ‘under the hood’ that counts. The machines may appear to be cost-effective on the surface, but if crucial components and wear parts are made of low-cost materials, the machine may wind up costing you more money in the long run, both in terms of parts and maintenance downtime.

Keep an eye out for an oversupply of plastic or biodegradable building materials, since this might be a sign of disaster in the future. Bag gripper arms, for example, are an important component of the machines that should be constructed with durability and strength in mind.

The gripper arms are in charge of keeping the bag steady as it passes through the various steps of the pouch packing process. They should be made of stainless steel and should be able to sustain heavy fillings of more than 20 pounds without drooping.
